Blood sugar VERY low after eating?

Hi, I have started to feel very ill after eating, especially after eating carbs. I had gestational diabetes so I have a glucose monitor and yesterday I tested and my glucose was 2.4. I looked it up and anything under 3 it says it's dangerously low and to take immediate action.

GP wasn't concerned though because apparently only high blood sugar indicates a problem.

Advice please?

You could have something wrong with your pancreas, causing you to produce too much insulin.

i would keep a food and blood sugar diary (timed) for a few days and return to your GP to request bloods.

Low blood sugar is also dangerous so your GP is so wrong for saying that. My youngest daughter used to suffer from drops in her blood sugar. If it goes low enough you will lose consciousness which happened to my daughter multiple times and is a medical emergency. Can you see a different GP? You definitely need a second opinion and it needs looking into.
When my daughter gets below 3 she drops quickly and becomes very unwell. You could get some lucozade tablets in to help bring your sugars up quickly if need be.

Hi OP, I don't have diabetes but I do have hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) which can be very dangerous if not managed. 2.4 is too low, I'd be seeing another GP if I were you. In the mean time the advice I was given....
Keep carb and sugar intake low, they can raise your sugars quickly but can also cause them to crash quick. If you eat carbs, go for slow release carbs.
Have a google for low GI foods. These should help keep your sugars stable and are also recommend for GD.

I get this after eating, especially carb heavy meals. For years it was happening to me and I kept being told it was panic attacks. I was eventually diagnosed with reactive hypoglycaemia.
