My memory has become SO bad since having children

Hello!

I wanted to come on here and find out if this is normal and has happened to other people!

Since having my children, especially after my second. My memory has become absolutely shocking! I really am struggling to remember things, I am constantly loosing things and I don't remember where I've put them, I used my sister in laws baby cot and I've given it back but I honestly can't remember giving it back (I drove the cot to hers too) and I have no memory of doing it?

I'm really struggling and it's getting to me now. I got my friends child a present as she's in hospital and I don't know where I've put it, I'm worried I've thrown it away by accident.

I am annoying myself and getting so angry with myself.

Is this normal?

Thank you x

Iron. Get to the doctors to get your blood checked. My money is on your ferritin stores being low. The nhs threshold for ferritin is 30 ngml but optimal amount is over 100.

Also check vit d, b12, folate etc.

Agree with Iron but also a whole host of other vitamins and minerals. Research what helps brain function and make sure you take them as well as trying to eat healthily for a lot of the time. I've read on here before that what the NHS considers acceptable levels of various levels - Vit B, Iron etc. are actually quite low so you could still be deficient even though the results may show acceptable levels.

As a basic your body can take years to recover from pregnancy and childbirth, and then add to that that it's common to neglect yourself a bit as a Mum.

Definitely iron and b12. I thought I had dementia (I'm on 43), I was sooo low on b12 and iron. My memory is so much better now xx

Get the test and then post the results here xx

Ok I will do, thanks so much! That's exactly how I feel! I'm only 34 and feel like I have serious memory loss! It's so bad honestly - I get sooo angry at myself too! And stressed out!
