Scleroderma, any advice/recommendations?

My aunt's just been diagnosed with this condition after months/years of pain in her hands. She's good at keeping warm, eats healthily and no smoking or drinking, so those things are covered. I'm just wondering if there is anything else she can do to ease her symptoms up a bit- she's starting on medication soon and is waiting for physical therapy as well.

Some sites suggest paraffin baths, but there seems to be loads of different kinds and some suggestion that they aren't effective. Anything else that I can suggest to her? Thanks for any advice.

Keep all of you warm not just your hands, make use of rechargeable hand warmers. Keep a very close watch on hands for any cuts, sores, potential ulcers. Moisturise religiously. Warm clothes and gloves on radiator. Find out about hand exercises from either a physio attached to the rheumatology department or from something like scleroderma and Raynauds Uk, useful source of other information too.
Your aunt has my sympathy especially today as the sudden drop in temperature means I have a lot of chilblains on the backs of my fingers!
