Hi, hoping someone can give some advice. A close female relative has been having constant headaches for the past nearly 2 months. The doctor has arranged for blood tests and an urgent scan of her head. I’m worrying. Can anyone help with any possible diagnoses? I have gone into worry overdrive. She’s had cancer before about 3 years ago, Has had all the usual checkups and all has been fine but I’m worrying she could now have it again. Is there a higher chance of you getting cancer again if you have had it once? The cancer previously was colon. Thank you.

Hi op,

I’ve had headaches on and off for the last 20 years. Started when I was a teenager. About 5 years ago I have very intense headaches that lasted for 3 weeks straight with no let up. I was scanned etc it showed nothing. The doctor said it was ‘cluster’ headaches and some people age just prone to them. They prescribed me some tablets to take that are ‘blockers’ you can only take them sparingly…can’t remember why. I probably get 1 a month at the moment and have never had the constant ones I had a few years ago. Not sure if that’s helpful or not

My adult dd has always had headaches and migraines.

Two years ago she was getting headaches every day, coming home from work and sleeping.

He migraine tablets were increased with no effect.

She had 'blockers' and chiropractor treatment. We don't know which of those did the trick. She doesn't take the tabs but has occasional treatments and has been fine.

Thank you both for your replies. I’m glad your/your daughter’s headaches have subsided. Migraines do run in the family, the whole female side suffer to some extent. Gives me other reasons to think about, appreciated, thank you.

I’m assuming she has seen an optitican and dentist?

For the usual checks every six months. Not in respect to having these headaches though.

I had daily headaches for weeks which turned out to be linked to a sinus infection. I had no other symptoms but had a long course of antibiotics and it fully resolved
