Provera online to delay period- safe?

We're going away next weekend and DD18 has reminded me that she'll likely be on her period (the break involves swimming/hottubs). For previous holidays the GP has prescribed Norehisterone(?) to delay her period (most recently 4 months ago). Getting hold of our GP is not easy and previously she had to have a phone appointment booked several weeks ahead before they would prescribe. I've gone online and on the Boots website they won't prescribe Norehisterone because I couldn't give a blood pressure reading but will prescribe Provera which is an unlicensed drug. Worryingly the GP never checked DDs blood pressure prior to prescribing as it was a phone call, just talked her through the signs of a bloodclot.

I will try contacting GP tomorrow in the hope they'll prescribe without an appointment, given she had the drug recently, but if no joy would it be risky to order the Provera?

Thanks!

Can't she just use tampons or continue her pill (if she takes one)? Didn't think this was still a thing but can't be good for you playing around with periods.

You could just input a blood pressure reading if you felt happy to do so.

I ordered norethisterone from pharmica. Can't remember if they asked for a reading.

She doesn't use either unfortunately.

Period swimwear if you can't get the period delay tablets?

Buy a blood pressure machine and input it on the form and get them from boots.

Can you still get blood pressure done in the chemist?

Thanks, just ordered from them. No, they didn't ask for a reading but neither did the GP!

I have had provera for this reason. Once from the GP who advised it was safer than Norethisterone (which I had years ago) due to me being middle aged overweight and going on a flight. Less risk of blood clots.

It isn't unlicensed, it is an off label use of the drug. It is licensed for HRT if I remember correctly, use for period delay is off label. Lots of drugs are used like this.

I have used it more than once but on one occasion bought it from the pharmacy rather than seeing a GP.
