It says greater than 128 pmol/L which it then says is above the reference range. So it's higher than the top of the reference range.

MadBlack · 02/11/2024 22:21

Your result is greater than 128.
Normal (for the NHS) is greater than 50.

Bubbletrouble2 · 03/11/2024 06:21

Ok thank you xx so what is my level ? 128??

karmalaaaala · 03/11/2024 06:28

It's more than 128, the upper reference rate is 128 and yours is higher.

don’t know if I should be concerned … Secetery told me results n slammed the phone down :..:😩😩😨

The comments are standard comments to explain low readings. They don't relate to your results.

Googling "high B12" tells you that the implications range from nothing to certain death so don't try that 😀

See if you can get a phone appointment with your GP or nurse.

I will do thanks a lot ladies x

Hi, came across this about B12. My blood test was high and it went down because I have found out I took a supplement with a high B12. Some vitamins can have extra B12. Are you taking any vitamins/supplements that may caused this?

Odd, as this is my normal result and guide levels - Serum vitamin B12 level (XE2pf) 211 ng/L [150 - 1,000] 🤔

It's a different test, the NHS code is different. Yours is Serum B12 level, the OPs is Plasma B12 and both are in different units.

Ah ok, thank you. What’s the difference do you know?

That's interesting @Greybeardy I though they were similar, but different. The test results are certainly in different units with different reference ranges as a result of that.

Hello again. Yes. Back to normal. We can't have much too much Bvitamins, because they are fat soluble and stay in your body longer. Also I took some supplement before my blood test. Got tested few months later, back to normal. Mine is serum B12 test different from yours. Didn't know we can have different blood tests. Ask to take another blood test again. Have you got tested for other health issues, checks. like thyroids, liver, vitamin D? Take care.

Hi Surprise50. My surgery's lab is (187.00-883pg/ml) I was over. 900..

Why surgeries do different test, I am confused.

Lifeisblaaaaaaaaa · 25/09/2025 18:37

Hi, I was woundering if you found out what was going on with your b12. My results came back today as very high and having to wait to speak to the doctor is stressing me out.
