Neilmed sinus bottle - worried

I get health anxiety so go easy on me.

I used the Neilmed sinus bottle for the first time and did wonders to my nasal passages as I was getting so fed up.
Anyway since, just read the dangers of it (can cause brain infection and death) and now I am really worried. I boiled tap water in the saucepan for 5 minutes so I'm hoping that is okay.
I'm probably worrying too much but yikes I am so worried I've done myself harm now.

That was for someone who hadn't used boiled water.

I also used the water while warm and not cooled so it was cold. It's definitely put me off.

I use mine all the time with boiled water from the kettle. Sometimes I let it cool, others I use it warm. Before I bought it, I used a clean sports cap mineral water bottle & I’m fine.

Before I read the instructions I used mine with warm tap water. I’m still here!

It's for Americans who don't have safe tap water

shewolfmum · 01/11/2024 23:43

Warm is best!

QuestionableMouse · 01/11/2024 23:47

You'll be absolutely fine. Fewer than ten people a year contract it in America and I can't even find any stats for UK rates.

And that's including swimming in lakes and ponds.

The chance of getting it from boiled UK tap water must be so tiny as not to be worth worrying about.

I always use warm water.
