Doterra oils? Low tox living

Anyone have any experience with doterra oils?

Are they worth it or a bit of a scam? I'm reducing my toxic load at home, with regular fragrance (in hand washes, perfumes, detergent) being something I'm phasing out. So I'm looking for a healthy and safe alternative.

I also know many essential oils have healing/health promoting properties.

If doterra is a scam, do you have recommendations of other companies that produce good quality oils? Thanks

Doterra are an MLM. Enough said.

Essential oils are potent, and many are toxic themselves. Tisserand is a reliable brand but you need to research each oil you want to use and its toxicity. Many should not be used near animals. Do not take any internally and dilute in carrier oil if you are going to be using them on your skin.

It's often suggested that oils are used in the bath - they do not dilute in water! If you want to use them in your bath you still need to use a carrier oil

@Elphame haha fair point! Honestly that's why I'm hesitant. I feel like I'd be joining a cult.

Shame though, I thought this would solve all my "natural remedies and if they don't work, big pharma drugs" issue.
