Stopping taking naproxen

I have almost stopped taking daily naproxen after about a year. I had tendinitis in my knee and physio has improved it to only a slight niggle.
I was taking x2 500mg per day and cut to 2x 250mg a couple of months ago. Now 250mg every other day and I feel terrible, my back aches, my hip aches, my arms ache.
Is this a symptom of withdrawal? Or has the medication been masking other problems?
Anyone else been through similar?

I took it for a while for RA and it was very useful. I was forced to stop and my pain increased.
As far as I know naproxen isn't addictive and doesn't have withdrawal symptoms. It is however a very good painkiller and anti inflammatory so I suspect the drug has been suppressing those symptoms. I am not any kind of expert though.

You can’t be physiologically addicted to naproxen. It’s obviously been working for you and masking all these aches and pains.

Thanks for replying.
I only hoped that it might be to do with stopping taking the naproxen and would therefore wear off.
I really don't want to be taking painkillers every day long term. Naproxen is supposed to be hard on the liver and the accompanying omeprazole has side effects too.

Almost as much as that, I would like to be able to stop worrying about getting a new prescription every month or so.
The Dr will not make it an automatic repeat, so I have to ask every time specifically, there have been frequent mix ups!

Following my knee op, as I recovered and reduced my pain meds (had been on them for a few years) I had terrible back pain and some hip pain too. It was my body readjusting to walking properly as my gait had changed due to my severe arthritis. It cleared after a couple of weeks. Could it be this OP?

Definitely I have had pain like that before: Sore ankle makes you walk funny, makes your knee hurt, makes you hip hurt and so on.
Aching arms though?

Cold water swimming is amazing for my tendinitis & aches and pains. It's anti inflammatory & releases endorphins so you feel excellent after.
