Are Kwells travel pills addictive?

I take kwells travel pills (hyoscine hydrobromide) for car sickness on long journeys as and when I go on them, which isn’t often.

I noticed they help me sleep and I’ve been taking one to help me sleep through and as normally otherwise I’m up with urine retention all night.

I’ve been taking one a night for the past seven nights to sleep.

I’ve tried to stop taking them but my quality of sleep is rubbish when I don’t, it’s like I have to.

I don’t get any sort of high- it just gives me an amazing sleep.

My partner says I will become reliant on them to sleep and that’s why I struggle without them.

I’ve been taking them to sleep for about a week now, one a night. I tried to stop two nights ago but I barely slept. So I had another last night.

I’m a recovering codeine addict on methadone treatment and I really don’t want to get addicted to something again.

Don't quite follow this? Are you up needing a wee or up because you can't wee?

They aren't known as a sedative but they do dehydrate you so I guess they might stop your bladder waking you up.

Either way if you are already addicted to some drugs it doesn't sound like a good idea to start a new habit.

Anything can be psychologically addictive, which is what this sounds like. It's not really a drug that can cause a physical addiction, but with anything to do with sleep, if you find something that works it can be hard to give it up and have to manage with behaviour change instead.
I'm similar with Melatonin, it works really well (no feeling 'sleepy' but able to get to sleep easier) but I won't use it more than a few nights in a row in case I start to rely to heavily on it and start to 'need' it.

they are well known to have sedative side effects and can make urinary retention worse. They also come with the risk of some pretty funky cardiac & neurological side effects if you find yourself taking more and more. Definitely best used only as per the manufacturer's advice.

I only ever take one a day, never go past 3 which is recommended dose

Both. Feel like I’m bursting, then when I go, I only push out drips.
