Any advice for lower back/hip pain?

It's 4:30 and I haven't slept at all because I am in so much pain. I see a chiropractor who says I have a tilted pelvis. The treatment helps a bit but I still get really bad nights like tonight and I so need my sleep right now (DS is six months!).

Any suggestions for other treatments I could try? I am desperate!

Poor you!

pilates?
Alexander technique?

They both work on alignment and core stability.

I have got this - in my case due to poor posture combined with failure to lose baby weight + strain of carrying LO around the place! (he is a velcro baby!!)

Have you seen an experienced/specialist physio to get a proper diagnosis? If there is an element of trochanteric bursitis, injections can give temporary relief and may give you breathing space to do the exercises you will need to do to treat the cause.

Agree with doing pilates, find an experienced instructor and get a couple of 1:1 sessions if you can and then do the exercises religiously! Classes are good too if you cant afford the 1:1.

PS for tonight try gentle heat, massage, stretches and relaxation

Poor you. I had this at late stages of pregnancy and after baby. Absolutely awful. In the first instance, hot bath, painkillers and sleeping in a sitting up position on the sofa did it for me. I know this sounds weird, but I just couldn't lie down - too painful.
Then I saw an cranial osteopath who was brilliant. Now do pilates and yoga to try and keep it under control. Hang in there.

I gave up for tonight. Can't believe I have had no sleep at all. Today is going to be rough.

I will look into Pilates. I was wondering about acupuncture.

No harm in trying acupuncture but make sure you also do exercises from physio or pilates teacher....... hnnestly...... the muscles of your back + "core" need to stay strong to give your back the support it needs
