Sorry for the TMI but have been suffering alone for long enough now and need some support/advice. I get (currently) vaginal discharge like at the beginning and end of a period. This can go one for 2-3 weeks, with the pain associated with a period. This can often be accompanied by sporadic heavy bleeding (maybe once every few days I will have a bleed for an hour or so), then it all goes away, I feel totally crap, the gp looks at me like I have horns. I have been going on like this for about 2 weeks now and this is not the first time this has happened. Can anyone shed any light. I also have PCOS and wondered if this was some crazy mad side effect. Thanks and sorry if TMI but am totally pissed off with how I feel and need to know that I am not alone. Thanks

Hi Singyswife - I have pcos and haven't experienced anything like this. Your GP is really bad not to investigate any further as I believe any unexplained vaginal bleeding should be investigated. I think you need to go back with your hard hat on and demand a referral. Best wishes, I'm sure it is nothing to worry about but worth trying to find out a bit more.

No advice or experience I'm afraid, but bumping for you. Personally, I'd be seeing a different GP.

singyswife · 23/04/2008 21:52

Have seen several and a Gynie. No help though.

you do need to see your gp and get a refferral to gynae.

Hassled · 23/04/2008 21:54

Agree that you need a different GP. You shouldn't have to be putting up with this. Don't know about PCOS, I'm afraid but go and see a nice GP and insist that this is investigated further.

saralou · 23/04/2008 21:54

have they investigated the cause at all, tried any treatments?

singyswife · 23/04/2008 21:56

Yeah they have investigated, scans, internals, gynie appointments etc. They have also tried several treatments and yet I am STILL like this. I totally hate it and I hate complaining about it as I always feel that people are sick of hearing me as they have heard it all before.

It's possible to get a referral via your local sexual health clinic. I did this when my gp dismissed my concerns for over a year.

Elasticwoman · 23/04/2008 22:11

I've had PCOS and don't remember any symptons like these.
