Hi,
My partner tested positive for COVID yesterday morning (Tuesday 15th October 2024) and so far has had very little symptoms, these are a cold and a headache/ leg pain.
I have tested positive for COVID tonight (Wednesday 16th October 2024) as I have felt a sore throat this afternoon.

We currently have a 3.5 year old and a 4 month old baby.
Now, we are unable to self isolate ourselves from our children as they need us. My partner was previously self isolating from us all.

What is the best advice someone can provide us with as I am worried about my children getting COVID, particularly my 4 month old?

Unfortunately there isn't anything you can do. Children absolutely fight it off easier than adults, it's just like a cold for them so if they do catch it it's not the end of the world. Obviously don't kiss the baby directly on the face and if you wanted to wear a mask while feeding the baby I guess you could but it's in no way a secure plan, it's totally 50/50 if they catch it.

nasal sprays can reduce viral load which makes sense to presume you may be less likely to pass on the virus?

Unfortunately you just need to get on with it.

Lots of hand washing, bin tissues immediately etc. But to be honest, unless you can rustle up a full time nanny, your dcs are probably already positive.

Calpol, Olbas oil and take your time. Hopefully they won't be too ill.

Your children are probably already positive if you and your husband are.
For all you know it could have been your 3.5 year old who brought it home.

Lots of colds/viruses going around at the moment.
I provide acute nursing care in the community, my daughter is 5 also.
So I get coughed on at work and at home!

What would you do if you thought you both had a cold?? You would continue to look after the children.

Basics of handwashing, covering your mouth when you cough etc plenty fluids and paracetamol for aches and pains.
