Stomach bug with gallstones

Diagnosed with gallstones 2 months ago (along with umbilical hernia) but had no symptoms of it besides indigestion.
Currently waiting a scan to find out how my gallbladder is working (had to go private!)

Saturday night out of the blue, I started being sick and shortly came the other end, this lasted about 9hrs.
Yesterday I managed to eat but was met with insane stomach rumbling, slight pain under my ribcage in the middle (pain came and went) and orange/yellow loose stools.

Today I feel better, managed to eat more but again my stomach is rumbling. Stools aren’t as loose but still the same colour.

I couldn’t get a GP appt and I’m waiting to hear back from my consultant.

I suffer with health anxiety so I can’t tell if my gallbladder is in a bad way or it’s my body trying to recover form the stomach bug. Any help will be greatly received!

Not a doctor but someone who had gallstones. My understanding is that while your poo (whether solid or not) is on the yellow-brown spectrum, your gallbladder is functioning as the yellow is due to the bile being released. You only need to worry if you have grey poo with no colour as that indicates a complete blockage of the gall bladder. If you’re not eating much food but still releasing bile into your digestive system then in my experience it can get very yellow but I find eating small amounts of food helps settle things down. The usual stomach bug recovery advice applies - light, easily digestible food.

Whenever I had a stomach upset, my gallbladder would grumble for several days afterwards, which I presumed was due to the digestive system spasming and contracting during the v&d and aggravating the whole area. This often took the form of pain and loose bowels. I had one large stone and my consultant described it like one of those old fashioned lemonade bottles with a marble - shake it around too much and the stone pressed against the tube exiting the gladder, temporarily blocking it and causing pain.

Thank you so so much! Your reply has put my mind at ease, so much. I really appreciate it.
We’re due to go on holiday this weekend and I was utterly terrified I was going to fall seriously unwell.
