My ear piercings have never healed right.

Hello

I got my ears pierced many years ago. When I was a child. It was done in a jewellery ship and they rammed hoops through my ears.

I wore earrings until my 20s and stopped, I'm now almost 40 and started wearing them again as the holes didn't close up. I stopped wearing them as was sore. So I'm dealing with the soreness again.

One of the ears behind the lobe has a keloid. It's not the sorest one .

Any tips on how to heal it or something so it's not always sore taking them in and out. The one that's most sore has a black spot just at the top of the piercing hole. Not sure what that is!

Seriously, if it’s got a black spot on it it’s probably full of gunk.

cooled boiled water with rock/sea salt in it (not cooking salt), give it a good soak which is what they recommend for new piercings these days. Also, what are the earrings made of? If they are continuously sore then could you have an allergy to them?

It's more like a spot of black head type. It's above the hole . I'll try and clean it out but how do you do that lol.

Thanks will try that. I wear sterling silver.

Similar for me. Had them done with a gun at about 12. Followed the advice to wipe them with tcp and give them a little turn each day. Never healed and even though I haven't worn earings for about ten years I still had a gunky hole, nearly 20 years after they were done! I had them re-pierced I the summer and I think the new hole a few mm over allowed the gunk to escape! They have healed so well and it's been about three months and they are ready to swap if I want to.

I found germolene helped before when they were very gunky though.

Try getting some stainless steel or titanium earrings, could be the metal making them sore. A decent piercing place (e.g one in a tattoo shop) might be able to sell you the ones they are using as other metals can be mixed with nickel that can be an irritant to some people

Try changing to solace earrings they're hypoallergenic
