Has anyone successfully lowered their blood pressure through lifestyle changes? My BP is high, medication hasn't been suggested yet but I think it will be soon.

Lose weight! Husband has got his down by losing 20kg through healthy eating and lots of exercise. Mine has always been on high end of normal - I had no weight to lose but have done regular intense exercise for 9 months now and it has come down too.

Oh and stress definitely doesn’t help so find ways to reduce that if possible.

Loose weight and beetroot juice. Eat lots of beetroot and drink beet juice (the stuff sold in supermarkets is fine - beet it. It tastes ok)

This works so well, it will reduce bp within half hour of drinking. In combo with weight loss, brilliant.

Blood pressure nurse friend of mine says really only drugs work when it comes to that level.

Then what happens after it's gone down after half an hour?

Cardio exercise, no liquorice, low salt, low fat, stay healthy weight. Mine is 140/90 (had 24hr monitor) - it is genetic in my case so due genetic testing (my sisters BP was on IC as they couldn't get hers down - she has a cavernous angioma). No excercise that puts a lot of strain on your body (like weightlifting).
