Normal breast tissue or actually a lump? How to tell?

Hi all. Apologies for another thread.

I just found what I think is a lump in my breast. However, I have no idea if it's normal tissue or not and I can only find it if I press into my breast while I'm holding my arm up. It's small and hard. I don't want to waste GP time if it's just normal tissue, and I'm hoping it is as I can only find it in a certain position etc.

Has anyone had a 'lump' like this and it just be normal? I can't find it on my other breast but although it's difficult to tell as it's small.

I will go to the GP if I need to.
I'm 32 if that makes any difference. Thanks all.

I think if in doubt go and get it checked, it might be something or it could be breast tissue or a cyst but get a GP to have a look and they will advise you.

Hopefully it's nothing but you won't have wasted their time either way.

Thank you.

I went to the GP and she felt thickening straight away so I've been referred to the breast clinic.

Does anyone have any experience of thickening being nothing sinsiter?

I think you'll know if you have lumpy breasts or not. Mine are still v lumpy so you sort of learn where the lumps are. Always better to get new lumps checked out though. It could be anything (cyst, milk duct etc) but only way to be sure is to go and get it checked out. I'm also about to go again as one of my breasts has started leaking but I had a check up about 5 years ago and it was duct ectasia then so fingers crossed it's the same.

Good luck with your checks.

Yes, I've had benign thickening OP. You're correct to get checked out at the breast clinic, but there are also benign causes.
