Eye surgery - dry shampoo?

Can you use dry shampoo after cataract surgery? You are told not to wash your hair for 1-2 weeks but they say nothing about alternatives. Please help!

I left mine for a week, then held a clean cloth over my face while DH sprayed my hair from the back, then led me away from any particles in the air. Seems a bit OTT perhaps, but I wanted to be safe.

Use shower cap or one of those baby shampoo head guards.

I had cataract surgery at 40 and as I wash my hair in the shower every day (it's short so totally spikey in the morning) I couldn't stand the thought of not washing it. So I bought a pair of large swimming goggles - not the ones that are almost in the eye sockets but the big ones. I may have looked really stupid but I washed my hair no problem! When I went back for the follow up I told the consultant and she started to recommend goggles to her younger patients!

I would ask a health professional, dry shampoo is obviously powdery and personally it irritates my eyes, so it might not be a good idea after eye surgery.

I'm not sure it's the best idea because you don't want the dry power in your eyes. Goggles or a no rinse shampoo (not powder) might be better if okayed by consultant. It builds up and gets itchy anyway after a couple of days so probably wouldn't start using it in case you can't rinse it out. I don't know if that happens with the other no rinse varieties

Would swimming goggles work, or would they be painful after surgery?
