I think I have finally hit rock bottom and as a result did some more checking. and came up with this site........ lots of blinding science, but also a list of symptoms that could make a sane woman weep..with relief.

We're not going mad/lazy/depressed, well, we might be, but there are other possibilites

Cheers,

PS I've just had my full screening, so if there are any useful results, I'll come back and post again.

interesting - I have so many of those, "standard" blood tests all came back negative - GPs answer was that it is depression and that I need to exercise more.

What I do know SS is that the range used to judge thyroid issues in teh UK is different to that now used in other countries - it's only changed recently. Unfortunately I cannot remember the marker, but essentially it should be as near to "0" as possible, anything over 4 means put you on med.s for life. I was about 2.6, which in other countries, would be considered cause for action.

Might be worth finding out what your actual result was....

Right, now I'm definitely going to bed (it's late here!).

Thanks, Jackaroo. I hope your screening gives you some answers

I must wrestle the private medical insurance info from DH and see if it covers check-ups / screening.
