Help, my toddler just ate cat vomit

This morning when I was cleaning up one pile, the only pile I thought, of DP's cat's puke(yet again). I turned round to see LO eating some from another pile I hadn't spotted. Not only is it really disgusting but I'm now very worried. They are indoor cats and it was regurgitated food(cat eats too quickly)so it could have been worse but even so....it could have parasites or worms, couldn't it?

I'm so tired of living with cats. I'm not a cat person but it was fine before LO. Now they just get in the way and make more work for me (sorry cat lovers!). My DO refuses to even think about giving them away.

Has this happened to anyone else? Did you get any advice from a doctor? I'm in Spain so no NHS direct here.

Are your cats regularly treated for fleas and roundworms? Cats will sometimes vomit often if they have a heavy parasite burden.
I'd probably speak to a Dr for advice asap. Although it does sound like your cat was just vomiting food or maybe a furball. If your cat always does this it might be worth trying a different food, or feeding smaller meals more regularly.

dd once ate sheep poo and tried to eat half a snail (they foam in a really disgusting way )

just keep an eye on your toddler, but frankly it's amazing what they can ingest and still appear to thrive

Lol mimsum. Thanks for your advice both of you, and for taking me seriously-Everyone Ive asked here seems to think I'm overreacting. I'm going to keep a close eye on her and try to ring her doctor tomorrow just to check. This cat often vomits and it seems to be from eating too quickly(dry food). They don't go outside but haven't been wormed for years as far as I know. My DP reckons you would notice worms in the vomit and we do see it alot.
My LOs been in good spirits all day though-a good sign.
