Trapped Nerve? I need advice

I've been having a shoulder and hip issue (both same side) for years. Some days it's far worse than others. Today it's bad.

I've had a MRI on hip years ago pre-covid and a MRI on shoulder/neck this year.

This year's MRI showed a slight issue with neck discs.
MRI on hip and spine years ago showed a common problem with lower discs in back.

I can usually cope with it on its own but today both hip and shoulder are bad.

I have been back to the GP a few times and MRI results were reiterated to me and I have been told it's likely a trapped nerve.

What can I do? I can't continue like this.

I am getting a tingly sensation from my hip to groin to front of thigh.

I am also getting tingling from my shoulder to arm and hand.

I do have other symptoms but all been put down to being Perimenopausal. Is this normal for Perimenopause?

Is this how trapped nerves feel?

Any ideas. I feel so lost.

I had similar. For me it's progressively gotten worse. Some days I can hardly walk my leg just gives out. Can't open jars etc as my grip strength has gone. Now getting bladder problems. All from my spine crumbleing and trapping my nerves. What I have is degenerative.

I écho physio recommendations. Pay attention to your posture. Worth buying better sofa/chair/mattress to help and to keep from speeding up any deterioration.

You can get medication for nerve pain. Normal pain killers don't work on nerve pain.

I found until I started pissing myself and falling over they wouldn't do tests or take me seriously. I e had to be really persistent. Finally got one merve study done on one arm and they are like oh shit this is kinda bad yes you do have nerve problems this would cause weakness and pain. Like my listing my symptoms hadn't happened?! They don't take you seriously until you say you can't work anymore and insist they put in writing they are refusing investigation then they do it begrudgingly has been my experience

Yep collapsing leg is painful too. Urge incontinence also a pain. I had to push the GPs for six months over that for estriol cream, because menopause does thin your vaginal walls which leads to bladder issues. Add in the spinal issues it made things so much worse.

would have thought being flat and relaxed would help it - but not in my case!
Try bringing the knee on the side of the affected foot up to your chest on the opposite side. So if left leg affected hug it to your right breast. For me this seems to release the nerve and I can feel it temporarily eases the tingling.

Sudden onset weakness in limbs and incontinence unless already diagnosed should be at least 111. When I had my recent fall and x rays, the ed Dr said if I had either of those symptoms to come straight back to the ED.

Thanks for all your replies.

I'm wondering if any of you think the hip/leg pain is worse mid-cycle? - though I am Perimenopausal.

I'm definitely feeling worse in many symptoms at this time.

Is this normal?
