I have a large lump on my neck, scan showed a multinodular goiter.
I've been put on the waiting list, expecting a fair wait to get it removed. But I have a pre op in 3 weeks for a thyroidectomy.
I'm so worried it's come around so fast ( was scanned about 2/3months ago) means it's something the doctor is worried about being cancerous.
How likely would they been to know it's cancerous before it's removed?
Or an I just lucky and the waiting list isn't long in the south West?
My blood test results from weeks ago:
Test result - Thyroid function test Report, Satisfactory. Serum TSH level (XaELV) 0.179 miu/L [0.35 - 4.94] - Below low reference limit
How can it be satisfactory if it's so far below the lower limit?
In July it was 0.421
And dec 2023 it was 0.203
So it's all over the place. Should I be on meds before the operation to stabilise it?
