Thyroidectomy - large multinodular goiter

I have a large lump on my neck, scan showed a multinodular goiter.
I've been put on the waiting list, expecting a fair wait to get it removed. But I have a pre op in 3 weeks for a thyroidectomy.

I'm so worried it's come around so fast ( was scanned about 2/3months ago) means it's something the doctor is worried about being cancerous.

How likely would they been to know it's cancerous before it's removed?
Or an I just lucky and the waiting list isn't long in the south West?

My blood test results from weeks ago:
Test result - Thyroid function test Report, Satisfactory. Serum TSH level (XaELV) 0.179 miu/L [0.35 - 4.94] - Below low reference limit

How can it be satisfactory if it's so far below the lower limit?

In July it was 0.421
And dec 2023 it was 0.203

So it's all over the place. Should I be on meds before the operation to stabilise it?

Hi, how did you get on with your operation? I'm dealing with the same thing currently, I have a multinoduler goitre, ultrasound scan confirmed its benign but largest nodule is 4.5cm so waiting to have another scan to see if any growth (previous scan was 10 months ago & was waiting 10 months for my recent ENT app!) Either way looks like will need it taken out as if it does grow will be harder to remove. Hope you are recovering well.
