hi all hope someone can advice around 5 months ago i was smoking very heavily for a couple of years and had a lot of stress at this point and i developed sort of mild chest pains usually on the left side and pulsating (rthmatic) and usually goes through to my back untill now anyway
i went to AnE multiple times ecgs chest xray / troponin clear i evan paid privately for a ct angiograme of my heart and my arteries were clear, anyway these symptoms persisted i quite smoking and got rid of what was causing me stress (a family member!) fast forward to today the pains are still hear they can go for a few days and then come again and last for weeks it feels like a light squeezing motion under left lower rib on a couple of occasions i have had pain down my arm and breathing was slightly painful on exhale but just a couple of times that had happened i am not tender to touch o originally put it down to carry my toddler heavily on my left side for a long time but this pulsation pain doesn't seem to match that i have also the last three weeks started to have pulpitations or a feeling my heart is skipping a beat with a slight dizzy motion alongside it can happen at a random time i am not an anxious person and do not have anxiety but i feel all these symptoms are linking to cardiology i have not had every cardiac test so i am not out the woods any one could advice would be great thank you

I think you need to see your GP and explain all of your symptoms. Without being rude, you'll get a huge cross section of advice on here ranging from helpful to downright dangerous!

It's really frightening to get any sort of chest pain - I suffer from Tietze syndrome which is inflammation of the tissue between the ribs and it's really scary when a flare up starts off because it's hugely painful. It took a LOT of tests and nearly 5 months to get a diagnosis, so sometimes you need to just keep going back and pushing if you're not getting answers. If you're worried today, phone 111. Chest pain should always be investigated promptly.

Despite what you have said about previous visits to A&E and test results, as an ex-nurse I strongly urge you to go straight to A&E again if you get any type of squeezing pain in your chest, or chest pain extending down an arm.

My GP wasn't helpful initiallly, I then ended up going into A & E one morning at 2am and was admitted for 48 hours for tests. They then sent this onto my GP, who again wasn't very helpful and I had such a bad attack that DH called 999. Then purely by luck I saw a locum GP who straight away said "I think it's costochondritis" as he'd seen it before. I then got referred to the chest pain clinic who ran a battery of cardiac tests and I was given the all clear so the GP was happy to treat for costo... however when it kept flaring up, he then changed the diagnosis to Tietze Syndrome. I honestly thought I was going mad at the time because the pain was horrendous, and varied from my back/shoulders to the sternum. It took around a year to fully go, after long term naproxen use and physio but if I get stressed/run down/get a cough it starts up again.

No one here will diagnose you, you know that. All anyone can suggest is you go to hospital or pay and go back to the private doctor for an echo, 7 day monitor if you're having palpitations, a blood test for anaemia, d dimer, it could be cardiac, gastric muscular,
