Chronic fatigue - help please

I am convinced I have mild chronic fatigue. I can get up, dressed and do basic things in day to day life but I am always tired and if I have to do something that would be normal for many people I am left exhausted for days.

For example, I mainly work from home but when I go to the office I am knackered, headache, dizzy and mind fog. If I have a day out for longer than 5-6 hours on weekends I am falling asleep. I can't go out after 6pm as I'm tired. When I finish work at 5pm I have a shower and have to lie down all evening. I go to sleep before 9pm every night and get 9-10 hours sleep. I'm tired now and it's only 2:30pm.

I've seen doctors over the years and had various blood tests to check vitamin levels, thyroid etc etc. The only thing picked up was anaemia so I take iron tablets for that. I also take high strength B12 tablets over the counter. The GP seems to think as my blood tests are fine, I must be fine.

I'm in my 30s and worried about what will become of me.

Anaemia can make you feel dreadful. What are your iron levels now? The NHS "normal" is not the same as "optimal", you could be in normal ranges but not enough for your body.

Also did you work out why you are anaemic?

No, I am vegetarian which could be why.

Is sleep apnoea a possibility? https://www.asthmaandlung.org.uk/conditions/obstructive-sleep-apnoea-osa/epworth-sleepiness-scale

You really need to go back to your GP. Explain your symptoms and if they are escalating/how long they have gone on without improvement. Get more bloods, do ask them to check your iron properly (i.e. not just red blood count, do ferritin and proper RBC morphology).

You can't go on like this, it is being caused by something but you might need to push for answers if your GP isn't proactive. Do it now, because if the fatigue gets worse it will only be harder to advocate for yourself then. I've been very anaemic for a couple of years and everything in your post sounds very familiar. I hope you get some help.

Wjy not

Because the people who start threads are seeking advice at that time. Life moves on and they may not wish to discuss the same issues or have the threads revived.
Its more suitable to start your own thread and ask for people to respond with their experiences
