Was wondering does any one know what vitamins and minerals NHS GP can check for ?
I know they can do vitamin b12, folic acid, ferretin, vitamin D .
Can they check for magnesium , zinc , iron , iodine , selenium , Vitamin A,Vitamin C, Omega 3’s , and the other B vitamins like b2 , & b3 . Does any one know ? What minerals and vitamins can they check for ?

The ones they deem necessary based on your symptoms.

I've asked for a vitamin d, b12, folate and ferretin before now, as I have hypothyroidism and low levels of one or more of these can impact your thyroid. I

t was a right faff though and they just told me levels were "fine" and didn't give me the specific numbers, so I just get a private blood test now about once or twice per year, so that I can check my numbers are optimal. It turned out previously my vitamin d was borderline low and my ferretin was 17, which is way too low!

They can definitely check iron. As a lay person, if I had to guess I'd say they don't check omega 3, for example, as it just sounds unlikely and I've never heard anyone mention it but wait for a professional to say

Ferritin isn't a vitamin, it is a protein that stores iron in cells so, in simple terms, the level is a measure of stored iron.

They can definitely check Vit D, B12, iron and folic acid but usually only check them in response to symptoms rather than just if you wanted to know what supplements to take
There is a blood test that checks electrolytes which includes things like sodium, potassium and calcium but I think this may be the levels required for heart health (if they are too high or low they can cause arrhythmias) rather than telling you if you need to supplement
There are some private companies offer testing but I am not sure how reliable they are
