Weird threat title I know!

However my 3 year old wrapped his arms around a my neck for a hug and while around my neck I got such a strange choking sensarion at the front, (he wasn’t holding on hard) I then pressed again lightly just above voice box and feels like I’m choking! Is this normal? I’ve tried to Google but just comes up with sore throat/ tonsillitis which I don’t have.

Of course it's normal.

That’s literally what being choked is

So normal.

So normal that you're advised to do this (ie press on the throat) to a male if he's attacking you, to get him off you, if you're a female, in self defence classes. It's so easy to do and feels so horrible doesn't it. Even when it's your own little monkey!

(I would try to stop him doing that by the way as he could endanger other children)

It really doesn't take a lot of pressure to feel very uncomfortable and a toddler hanging around your neck would be a lot of pressure, so totally normal thing to feel.

Just ask you toddler to move his arms as it's hurting Mummy and move his arms
