Has anyone found an effective gizmo or technique to stop snoring?

It's going to end badly if I don't something soon.

DH and I barely slept together for the entirety of last year due to snoring, but then a friend recommended snore device, which I think is this one: https://britishsnoring.co.uk/shop/mouth_breathing_devices/somni_snoreguard.php

It took him a few weeks to get used to it and to be able to sleep with it, but we have been able to sleep together most nights since, unless he's had a bit to drink. Sometimes he takes it out in his sleep or sometimes it gets a little uncomfortable and he wakes and takes it out, so occasionally he does wake me after that, but not every time. But such an improvement on last year.

This is an excellent resource, and I also recommend the snore lab app.

This. It isn't attractive, your partner 100% needs to be onboard in understanding how their snoring affects your life.

I, apparently snore (I'm fat) but no one has indicated that my snoring is affecting their sleep. My partner's snoring was becoming a real issue, but he now, automatically, puts this in when he goes to bed. If he rolls on his back, it becomes less effective, but a push on his shoulder rolls him back onto his side.

Game changer.

Has the snorer been checked for sleep apnea?

Mutzadell · 10/09/2024 15:08

Dp doesn't snore anymore with his CPAP machine

I'm the snorer! I have a thyroid problem and this means my neck is swollen and my throat constantly feels like I've swallowed a tennis ball. I assume it's something to do with this.

One of those things you put up your nose and it holds your nostrils open all night. Works for me! Also losing weight.

I have bought an anti snore pillow from Amazon fir around £20. Hugely reduced my snoring!!

Newgirls · 11/09/2024 20:09

Is there a pillow that works?!

Rainyblue · 11/09/2024 20:30

I bought loop ear plugs which I have found much better than regular ear plugs for blocking the snoring.
