Bleeding after diarrhoea

My husband had explosive diarrhoea last night and vomited once. He’s feeling better today but is now passing squirts of blood… he feels an urge to go, hourly or so, and then nothing but blood comes out.

We’re currently waiting for a call back from 111.
Could this be caused by an infection or blood poisoning? He doesn’t have a fever but has discomfort in his lower abdomen (no more cramps).

It has nothing to do with comprehension skills and i find your post rather insulting

It does not matter that you was in a similar situation at all - It does not mean that just because you were ok , that meant that the poster husband was going to be ok too

111 advised A&E as soon as they spoke to a doctor, the wait was not that long, 111 is a service where you have to WAIT
and it goes on answers from a computer screen, you arent actually assessed straight away from a doctor. So the wait was procedure
AND for your information 111 is not always correct
111 sometimes does not call back and VERY often gives you the wrong info / wrong diagnosis
I know on one occasion they said i was ok and was waiting a call back which ended up withe talking to 2 nurses and 3 doctors and then while i was STILL waiting for a call back my partner luckily had the sense to drag me to the car, where i was admitted into hospital and nearly died
The 111 call back came the next day and the ‘answer’ was, give it afew days, it will pass
So excuse me while i do not trust 111 and the service it provides.
Asking questions that a computer tells you and putting you in a Q is inadequate and dangerous ‘health’ care in my opinion

Again, this is not the same medical problem as you have and someone else losing blood isnt always going to be ok just because you survived

So in future i actually think that you shouldnt be advising people to stay home as you know nothing about them
It could actually be a medical emergency and someones life could be at risk

Your response proves my point.
