Blisters on the inside of my lips and on my lip

Over the past 24 hours my lips feel uncomfortable. It looks like I have a blister or two on the inside of my lip and also on my outside lip. This is on the right side of my lips/face.

I did cook dinner on Sunday and it was hot. I do remember burning my hand taking the meal out from the oven. I don't like eating hot food so I allowed my meal to sit for a good 20 minutes. I don't remember burning my mouth with it. If I burned myself from the dinner, surely I would have other feelings on my tongue too.

I do vape but still I vaped a few years ago I never remember this. I was vaping for a few months after taking it back up but I don't remember this. I do t have my vape very hot.

I am very stressed due to some issues and I am vaping more.

I had covid a few weeks ago and I am wondering if it's some sort of an immune response. I don't know.

We have this and it is a virus called hand, foot and mouth which is currently running rampant I'm afraid!

Our (young) kids are the ones who are really affected, but my husband and I also have a couple of ulcers each in our case just inside the lip.

Sore/tingly blisters usually means herpes (coldsores), especially if you’ve recently been stressed and unwell. They’re very common, affecting up to 80% of the population. Can be dormant for many years before they appear opportunistically.

Can you take a photo?

Sounds like cold sores! I get them. Stress and things such as colds/flu/Covid can aggravate them. They make my lips tingle then a blister forms which then dissolves and forms a scab. The only thing that works for me is tea tree oil but you can try Zovirax or similar treatments in the supermarket.

My sister in law got cold sores after COVID but I am out of my infection since about the 8 of August. Hers appeared more quickly.

Unfortunately I am unable to get a picture because most of it is on the inside of my lip but up higher. Hard to explain with one area of discomfort on my outside lip.

I have a dental gel ordered because it's for the inside of my lip. Gengigel. Hopefully that will help.

It really sounds likes hand food and mouth. I have caught it from my kids before. Basically felt a bit unwell and had loads of moth blisters. It will be fine in a few days

I don't have young kids. Whatever this is, came on me yesterday and I havent been around anyone sick or ill for a few weeks. I think hand, foot and mouth is unlikely.

Cold sore/herpes?

JennyForeigner · 03/09/2024 20:17

Well of course it may not be HFM but it is ragingly infectious including before and after people are symptomatic and everywhere atm.
