If you had CA 125 test last year 11 and then when retested a year later for another non related issue it maybe goes to 22 but still within a normal range, does it mean something is happening?

@Worrierrs I totally understand how you feel, I have health anxiety too and always overthink things. However I would really not worry in your situation, that’s a small fluctuation and still soo far off the cut off number!

I should be worried because I just got my results of 49! 🥲 never had this tested before, I just wanted some general tests to check for my fertility because I have a short luteal phase and used to have cysts before so really just to double check and this result shocked me a bit. Going to do an ultrasound soon, hopefully won’t go mad before then…. Although good to read the other comments on how many things could potentially raise this marker… I was on cycle day 6 so a day after my period but who knows, maybe it was still raised due to that… could be anything.

I have had CA125 tested several time in the last year and it does fluctuate. Mine is abnormal and between 50 and 70.
The gynacologist told me that CA125 is useful to measure the progress of known ovarian cancer patients but if you don't have ovarian cancer it can be raised for all kinds of reasons. Basically anything abdominal so bladder or bowel related, UTI, constipation etc.

Did you find out what exactly was causing this to be elevated for you?

@Kateeeeeeee not yet. I had a repeat scan in July and spoke to gynacologist last week. Scan entirely normal and he wants another CA125 doing (last was may at 51). I asked what they would do if it remained raised for no obvious reason and he vaguely said they would just keep checking every six months.
