doh.
Have been trying to make myself glam for forthcoming family wedding next weekend. Been slaterhing on lots of potions and taking care of self as I don't want to look like the haggard old bat I feel!

somehow today I've given myself an eczema type rash on my hands (dont have eczema only psoriasis) Knuckles and back of hands bright bright red with big blotches. Really stinging

I think its been brought on by an uncharacteristic burst of housecleaning/gardening
Could have been caused by:
hand washing cushion covers in weak non-bio solution. (without gloves oh silly me)
Gardening without gloves - do react to some plants.
variety of beautifying creams I've been slathering on to self in vain hope.

But whatever caused it - what can I put on it? Don't want to take piriton as makes me verrrrrry sleepy.

hydrocortisone cream??

windygalestoday · 17/04/2008 17:43

it sounds like my dermatitis mine only started when i used super strong oven cleaner! you could go to superdrug and buy a tube of cream for about £6 or you could go to docs and try a zillion creams that hardly work .......seriously go to pharmacist he will help u

Slather large amounts of emolient cream (diprobase, e45, etc) on your hands, wear cotton gloves and leave overnight. A few nights of that should help improve things.

leave it for 24 hours? Sometimes it doesn't help to keep fiddling with it. Then try pharmacist? Good luck.

Thanks
I put some emollient on and it stung so I shall wait til tomorrow and take up your advice to see chemist if its not better - great idea! (Soltaire if he recommends cortisone I've got gallons of the stuff!)
