I debated long and hard about getting it. There are studies and studies about it. If you have any doubts, get them done separately. Unfortunately that means more jabs! And costs money.
You have to remember that Measles is a killer disease - I know this because my sister nearly died from it. It is NOT like chickenpox. My sister's white blood cells dropped to the level of an advanced aids patient and she nearly died. This was in 1976, before the vaccines were available. I remember her being in hospital for about 3 weeks. Luckily the vaccine came in 1977 to oz (and I got done then as did my brother)
You also need to think about the risks of passing it onto other children.
My sister then got rubella after coming on a visit to the uk. This was at age 12 and mum was really worried it would affect her ability to have children.
There are studies that show there are no links to autism - though I was still skeptical when I saw footage.
If you have a really healthy child who bounces back quickly, has no colds, excema or allergies, I would have no concerns and go ahead with it.
I have 4 kids and for each one I had different concerns. I even left one until 3 and a half before getting the jab.
Also, remember it does produce high temps (for some children) so don't get the jab done at a time when YOU are not ready to deal with a fluey child. you need to have energy yourself to cope with a grumpy child!
Saying that number 3 slept for ages after getting it!
The biggest pro is you will not have to worry about them getting a potentially fatal disease.

They've done studies and studies, but the one that would convince me is the one where they look at all those kids whose parents believe they've been affected by the MMR, find out what's the link between these kids and if it is in any way connected to something environmental or genetic that is triggered by the MMR. If not, then fine. In the meantime, both my kids had the jab at one year - but not actually at one year. I left it until they were 18mths and 20mths - a homeopath told me that the immune system is just not ready to be bombarded at 12 months. And they've not had the booster at school age. That's supposed to be to 'catch' those who haven't responded the original one. Measles is only a killer in children with already compromised immune systems or on really poor diets; how many of our grandparents have stories of being kept in a dark room while they had measles? And they went on to survive a War !!! Do what makes you feel easiest; keep your children fed and healthy, and they will cope. But don't be fobbed off by Policy or Drug Companies pushing their product...
