Stubborn Eye Excema - any Treatments

Hi all, my daughter has hives if she’s too cold, too hot or sweaty. From a baby and toddler age she had mild excema on and off. Grew out of it until about age 14 when she got hives. Last summer got excema infection on two fingers (seperate times). Doctor advised she’s allergic to plasters. The last two months has has eye excema and can’t shift it! Used hydrocortisone cream 1% and it goes down for a day or two in one eye then comes back in eyelids and or underneath. Going to take her to doctor again but want to know if anyone has any recommendations for anything else in the meantime? Thanks

Outer eye? Then Elemis super food oil. And zero other products while it clears. Elemis pro college marine cream as a moisturiser. We tried all options from gp, even higher dose steroids which aren’t ideal on already thin skin.

Try an Aloe Vera plant leaves.

Break a bit off and store it in the fridge.

She will need a stronger steroid to get it down, probably just for a few days and then she can go back to hydrocortisone for a few more till it goes down.

With eczema you have to use the steroids longer than you think because it has to work its way to the inflammation in the lower layers of skin

GPs are nervy c steroids because of overuse in the 50s, so you might have to see a dermatologist privately

She needs to moisturise twice a day also.

could it be make up related?? It was for me

She doesn’t use make up at all. Think it’s due to predisposition to getting excema in other places o we the years. Will ask for steroids at next doctor appointment. Thanks everyone

There are only two things othet than steriods which help calm my dd's eczema. The oilatum bath oil and doublebase emoiliant. None of the other oilatum products help and neither do other emoiliants or things like E45. We've also found a beeswax product that helps too. I think it's trial and error with eczema.

Moo goo

I've used Eumovate (over the counter mild steroid) successfully on eyelid eczema before, but it says not to use on the face so you'd need to speak to the GP / pharmacist first.

Have a look at The Skin Shop, dry eye gel. It's great at clearing up stubborn eczema. They make some very effective products which I highly rate.

Ask your GP for protopic ointment. It's ok for use on the face and what my DDs consultant allergist prescribed for the same issue.
