Should I be worried?

On Wednesday I fainted. Felt absolutely fine before then my eye sight went blurry and I blacked out. Ever since then I’ve had a headache (one side of head only), nausea, some dizziness, and a sort of tension pain down my left side (shoulder blade etc).

I’m away so seeing a GP isn’t straight forward. Is it normal to feel like this for so long after a fainting episode?

Thank you in advance x

No, not normal. You need to see a medic, soon.

With those symptoms I would be going to A&E.

Can someone bring you?

Not a doctor but no, it’s not normal. How long is it until you can see a GP? Can you use your holiday insurance or GHIC to see a medically trained person whilst you’re away? If you’re away in the UK, call 111 and they will get an emergency GP to phone you.

I’m still in the UK so could call 111. Part of me thinks I’m overreacting but this headache and nausea just won’t go away.

Get checked out tonight

My son faints quite frequently as part of a condition he has and he is usually fine within 1-2hrs afterwards, main after effects being tiredness, weakness, dizziness. If he were experiencing headache and nausea for days afterwards I would absolutely have him seen to ASAP.

I don't want to scare you, but by those symptoms it could be a brain aneurysm. Go to be checked ASAP!

I don’t think you’re overreacting with these symptoms and 111 will probably tell you to go to A + E or an urgent care centre.

Exactly what @XChrome said. My sister had the same symptoms after a haemorrhage. She had a funny turn but wasn't on deaths door, however she ended up going to hospital as she was advised to do so by a friend who was a medic and they discovered she had a haemorrhage. Obviously in a lot of cases, things can be more severe and people can be extremely ill, but not always, so it's worth getting checked out.
