Does this sound like jet lag?

I got back from a week's holiday in Canada on Saturday night (UK time about 10pm). As it turns out, I'd severely bashed my toe the day before we left and thinking it would be fine I spent a week walking around on it on holiday only to end up in A&E on Sunday morning having an X Ray as it was so painful. Found out that it was severely broken and setting in the wrong position...have to go an see a specialist on Wednesday about it. Anyway, since I got back, I've felt terrible. I've been walking around in a cloud - I've had headaches, nausea and general feelings of malaise. Feel dizzy on occasions and wobby generally. Can't be bothered to do anything except hobble around the house. I've been going to bed a bit earlier than normal as I can't keep awake and then wake up pretty early in the morning, usually with a headache. My question is, does this sound like normal jet lag or could it be something else? Could it be toe related??
Sorry if this sounds crazy but I just can't seem to motivate myself to do anything and just want to lie around all day (difficult with two kids who seem to have suffered no jet lag at all and a dh who is at work all day).
Thanks

yes is probably jetlag. coming back to uk is far worse than flying there I find (go there aobut 2x a year) and coupled with your toe, sounds like you need a v good nights sleep with nothing to do. Not sure about the headaches and nausea tho - that doesn't sound like jetlag, it's usually just overwhelming tiredness (with me)
hope you're feeling better soon

where did you go? were you skiing?

Amandella · 15/04/2008 12:15

we went to Toronto - no skiing - just as well as I did just hobble around the place!!
Thanks for your response!
I had heard that jet lag can have many symptoms so I'm inclined to think it's that. Just wondering how long I can expect to feel so yuk!?

any chance of getting some extra sleep during the day? or going to bed much earlier than usual?

Is you temperature normal (not raised?). Jet lag can make me feel dizzy, nausious, disorientated tired and quite unwell - but if you have a raised temperature, or are actualy sick, I would see the GP. Odd how kids avoid the slowing down bit!!
Hope your toe setles soon - broken toes are so painful and difficult to live with.
