Hi,
I have developed this patch, it was itchy at first, but isn't anymore. What is it? Could it be from my watch? Is it eczema?

It does look watch shaped. Have you had the watch for a while? Do you have hay fever or other allergy at the moment? I quite often find that when my histamine is high because of hay fever then I react to things that are fine for the rest of the year, usually skin care.

WTAFisthisnonsense · 07/08/2024 14:34

It is most likely contact dermatitis.

Keep it uncovered and use a mild otc hydrocortisone cream. Try not to itch it.

I had this when I wore an Apple Watch. Water/sweat would get under the strap and cause an irritation. I don’t wear the watch anymore.

KimKardashiansLostEarring · 07/08/2024 14:35

Yep looks like watch allergy.

WTAFisthisnonsense · 07/08/2024 14:35

Show the pharmacist before purchasing the cream just to be sure.

OhMyLordItsMe · 07/08/2024 14:38

Thank you all, it is the back of my wrist, so where the strap goes. It is a smart watch, and I have had to stop wearing it for the time being. I will check out the cream, it is quite sore, so hopefully that will sooth it.

I get that when my facewash runs down my wrist and under my watch. Next day I have contact dermatitis like that.

Fellsbells · 07/08/2024 14:50

Is it a Garmin by any chance?

😂 I have just had to look 'Garmin' up, I was envisioning a sinister skin eating disease there for a second 😱
No it isn't that brand.

That looks like the eczema i get. I have it on a finger where I wear rings.
It can break out anywhere but it can be from rubbing like clothes or watch.
I honestly wish I knew how to get rid of it as for me I tried so many things and then it just randomly disappears!

NeverDropYourMooncup · 07/08/2024 15:27

Fitbit rash looks like that. I switched to a woven metal band instead.

JustToBeMe · 07/08/2024 15:28

Dermatitis is my guess.
My sons is very similar.

😂 sorry for scaring you.

My Garmin strap causes a similar rash, but no other smart watch strap has. (I swapped it and it healed up quickly)

That's what I thought, possibly allergic contact dermatitis.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 07/08/2024 16:19

If you have any snail gel I find that good for contact dermatitis.

Lovetotravel123 · 07/08/2024 16:24

I get that. Sometimes it is from cheap soap that hasn’t been totally washed off. Stress also causes it sometimes. I say this as it might not be the watch itself, just soap getting trapped.

Poopyfish27 · 07/08/2024 16:34

At first I thought psoriasis, but it's probably contact dermatitis. It used to happen to me if I wore costume jewellery.....but now, even gold does the same 🤷‍♀️
