Soooo after all these years actually tested positive.

Any tips how to survive this with 4 kids on your own? 🤣🤣🤣

Send prayers and thoughts fellow parents 🥰😇

I've dosed up on paracetamol and ibuprofen. Anything else that helps with the symptoms. Ive got headache, body just aches all over, runny nose and little cough.

Good luck and hope you feel better soon!

Sorry it got you! Had it three times and for me it's been ok. Second time was the worst because it was over Christmas and I was run down anyway. Had it a few weeks ago and it was really just like a bad cold.

What I would say is it can be an unpredictable beast in how it plays out - so one day you'll think you're better, then the next, you're floored with it. So while you are feeling ok ish, I'd prep as much as you can - online food shop, batch cook some basics like pasta sauce, chilli etc - stuff that can easily be reheated for the kids. How old are they? If very young then can anyone else help given that Covid really isn't the isolating experience it once needed to be?

Otherwise prepare for a lot of screen time, leave out any unnecessary activity like house work and hunker down. I do found that even with mild Covid I feel lasting fatigue especially if I overdo it, so....try not to overdo it if you possibly can!

Good luck and hope it goes in quickly for you.

Oh and ibuprofen gets me through, really helps bring down any inflammation.

My kids are 14,11,8 and 1 my eldest made dinner this evening bless him and the older ones chipped in with some chores for me. I've been in bed most of the day it's been awful. Just feel like absolute poop. My first time ever having it. I've been taking the usual ibuprofen and paracetamol but it barely touches it.

I feel like I'm out of it as such my heads all spiny and light.

To be fair I'm just asking how people have managed it with being on their own and with kids. As I've been in bed as much as I can today as it's taken it out of me.

Glad you took the time to comment though 😊

It's very tiring Op, so keep things as simple as possible. Pace yourself, pull in any favours. This too will pass but get as much sleep as you can.

Well sometimes people post for advice on how to manage with looking after their kids with a broken limb, or if they have a stomach bug/ cold / flu bad back or depression, because you know it's first and foremost a parenting site!
Sometimes people post feeling like shite and they just want to know they are not alone, or want to read something to take their mind off their ailment(s).
But I'm glad you posted your slightly disparaging question, because otherwise I wouldn't have bothered commenting on this post. But since I have now commented I'll try and support op as much as I can.

Being ill sucks when you have children that still need supervision and having a 1 year is even more challenging. Just do the bare minimum you need to do. Go for easy meals, rest as much as you can (not always practical with a baby), but just be kind to yourself. An audiobook (if you can cope with one) might help relieve the stress. Just hope you feel better soon Op.
your kids sound awesome, so fingers crossed you'll be back on your feet soon, and you'll all be able to enjoy the rest of the summer.
