Prescription syncing-is this a thing in England?

DH is on a lot of pills which I order online through Pharmacy 2U. At the moment I seem to be ordering pills each week as they all run out at different times. This must be such a waste of GP’s time (and mine!) Is there any system for synchronising all the orders so I can request them all in one go? I found an app but it’s US based and I wondered if there was similar in England?

Not that I know of.

When you put in your next request to the GP, specify a certain amount of pills? I've done this before, asked for 4 weeks of med A and 8 weeks of med B.

Once you've got everything within about 2 weeks of each other, which'll take a month or two I suppose, then you can just order the next two-month batch of everything all together.

I sort of did that , my tablets every 2 months, inhaler every month, asked to change to 2 inhalers at my asthma review & now just place the order every 2 months!

I had a conversation with the prescribing team at the surgery and they sorted it out so that all my meds are now in sync. Much easier for them too

Yes I have put a note on the repeat prescription on the NHS app to vary the amounts I can order (of HRT though so that might be different). Worth a try?

My GP told me next week that pharmacists can help with this - maybe worth a chat with them if you have a good one?

I collect all mine together once a month. I just asked for an extra 2 weeks or whatever was needed so they all needed replacing at the same time. The GP pharmacy are happy to do this as it creates less work for them overall.

Have a chat with them and ask if you can do this, and order the necessary tablets to get them synced.

Doesn't seem to be. I get 6 weeks of some meds, 8 weeks of another. I used to have only 4 weeks of one, but I asked for a double amount when I was going to be away, and it's been 8 weeks ever since.

I tend to order them all at once, in line with the 6 week one, then skip some in the next prescription request if I'm getting too many extra.

When this happened to me, I asked my GP to just change the amount of pills in one of the prescriptions so it ran out at the same time as the other one - he was happy to oblige.

Some areas have specific NHS prescription ordering teams who you order with instead of the medical practices because of how busy and under pressure they are.
My local ordering team sync meds up so that they run out together. Apparently it saves the NHS a fortune but not all areas do it.
