Metal fixed braces

Hi all.

I’m 26. Crowded lower arch, teeth moving outwards on upper arch so just to pull them back in. Not NHS qualified so need to go down private route.

Got a quote of £3300 for metal fixed braces both arches. Is this a common price point? Mild to moderate severity (like on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the worse, I’m sitting at 4-5)

I want to book a few consultations but they charge £50-£100 for 30 mins. So I can’t book too many obviously.

one practice said metal fixed is £2500-£3000 but they said it depends on my case. I want to get a quote in the hopes that it’s £2500 but they charge £100 for initial consultation. And if they quote me £3000 then it’s pointless because I’m not fussed about £100-200 difference, could have just went for £3300 one without wasting £100.

hope you get my drift

my question is- is £2500 just to entice you in? (Like a mild case where only 5% of patient falls under) or if it’s quite common?

So 5/6 years ago, I paid around 3k for invisilign.
Worked for my teeth but... if you don't use the retainers after the treatment, your teeth go back to normal

I'm a dentist.
That's -£3300- about right for a specialist orthodontist fixed-fixed plan.
Just get recommendations OP, make sure it's a specialist orthodontist practice; don't bother shopping around for multiple estimates.
