Going a bit crazy - anyone know anything about bones and or fractures?

I had a spiral fracture of my hand following a fall down our perilous stairs 18 months ago. Just the past week my hand has started clicking in the same way it did when it was broken (i went around undiagnosed for 2 days!) and also this evening I have noticed I have a depressed knuckle. Does anyone know if the knuckle continues to be depressed following the healing of a fracture, or if my hunch is correct and somehow, some way my fracture has re-occured??

Did you not have a subsequent xray to check it had correctly settled? I have fractured my wrist three times and it's very clicky and week now but it sort of looks the same, if doesn't work the same.

AFAIK - the knuckle stays depressed. It's a complicated procedure to fix it. DH's knuckle is permanently depressed on his right hand where he shattered the bone on the outside (in line with little finger).

My DB has JUST done exactly the same thing and is currently in plaster having had pins and wires used to correct.

He's been told the knuckle will probably stay depressed.

If you are worried, you should get it checked out.

what about ankles

i never got my ankle checked out but i am concluding that oi probably fractured it but that now there was no point doing anything although there is something not right about it ie it keeps going funny

I've no idea zippi - i'm not medical! Just know what I know!

I've sprained AND chipped the bone in my ankle and because I've done it so many times to the same ankle it looks different when my foot is turned inwards because the ligaments are much weaker on that side now.

I dont know what that means for you though. Best to get it checked out if its causing your problems.

No, they didnt. I was told the plaster would need to be on for 6 to 8 weeks when first put on and then it was removed after 4. Which is what is niggling in my mind.

Its not swollen, inflammed or hugely painful.

But it does click with certain movements and just doesn't feel right.

I did go and see a nurse who seemed to think it was all a bit odd, suggested RSI but I'm really not sure. Going to do some squeezy excercise for a week to see if any improvement.

I've only noticed it becoming sore since introducing DD to the bottle about 6 weeks ago, have been using that side to support her and the hand to hold her hand which tends to get a bit wavey!

Thanks for the info about your Dh VVV! Hope you are well!
