Low potassium

Hello, I have just had a blood test showing 3.3 for potassium and 2.7 for urea. These have always been normal for me as far as I'm aware (I have Crohn's so they test every 3 months).
I had just been on holiday before the blood test and had got drunk and vomited 6 days before the test, and had low level diarrhoea everyday for around 5 days leading up to the test. Could this have caused it? Or would my body replenished the potassium?

It definitely could be down to that. Have they arranged to retest you in a few weeks?
Low potassium levels can make you feel terrible so take it easy if you’re feeling off it. Make sure that they follow up with more tests. Possibly some electrolyte sachets will help in the meantime and bananas are packed with potassium too.

Won't do any harm to switch to a potassium based salt.
New Scientist recently had an article saying how it would benefit everyone.

I’ve often had this , they will probably prescribe SandoK and retest , if you have any diahoralite you can make it double strength and sip it but don’t bother trying to sort via food as that takes too long. In extreme circumstances they may suggest an IV

Hi all, I just realised these tests results were from February so I guess they didn't feel any action was required! I asked my IBD how were my results from May and they said the results were completely normal though did not give me the numbers. So I guess just have to assume I am OK for now!
