Hi

I have high (20-ish ) CRP blood test results over 4 months. Normal range is 0-5.

GP wants to see me face-to-face.

Is there treatment for high CRP?

What health issues can cause this?

Thanks

Can I ask, how do you all know your CRP score? I've had it done through Thriva but it's expensive and I wouldn't do it regularly. Is it generally monitored for an underlying health condition ?

Thanks @BishyBarnyBee My GP ordered the CRP test along with a FBC as I was having shoulder pain and had a lump. I had a MRI on that and it's not sinister. The CRP keeps getting repeated as it's out of range.

I have rheumatoid arthritis and my crp goes up if it flares. All infection causes it to rise. Mine was 160 when I had covid.

My mum just had hers tested last week and it was 83. She's been diagnosed with polymyalgia rheumatica and has been put on steroids. She started feeling better within a few days.
