This is probably a stupid thread but I wondered if anyone in the same position could give me advice?
Basically I have hypermobility, doesn't really affect me except my knees have dislocated every now and then over the last 12 years (I'm 34) each time it's happened it has luckily slid straight back into place, so no need for a&e although I did go the first few times and all it ended up with was an x-ray which showed it was back in place and a referral to the fracture clinic.
Fast forward since I gave birth to my baby 1 year ago it's got 100x worse. I am able to now feel it sliding out and I can stop it just in time but this is a nightmare, it can happen walking downstairs, standing in an awkward position like leaning to get something, you name it. My partner and mum keep badgering me to go to the GP but in all honesty what will they do? They did refer me to physio years ago but it didn't help and from what I remember I couldn't possibly do the exercises now (standing on one foot against the wall etc) as they are SO weak and lax. I can physically move the kneecap side to side when sitting down. Has anyone got any positive stories, even if it meant having surgery, that made this better? Because I feel the GP would be a waste of time if not!
