I'm not expecting a diagnosis here but as I can't get a Dr appointment for weeks I was wondering if this looks anything to worry about?

It's on my back and it itches and has done for a few weeks now.

Any thoughts?

Yes I had similar. That will need looking at by your GP

Bestyearever2024 · 06/07/2024 19:17

Get that checked. Email a photo to your surgery

toppcatt · 06/07/2024 21:48

I would ask for an urgent appointment and email a pic as pp have said.

Thanks all. Cant get a GP appointment until the 22nd so have emailed the surgery with photos. God knows if they'll ever look at them though 🤦‍♀️

@Sugarsnapper was yours anything to particularly worry about?

My DH had something similar OP. He sent a photo to his GP and had it removed shortly afterwards at Christmas time. It healed very quickly and all's well. The scar's almost invisible already.

twiddlingthumbs69 · 06/07/2024 22:01

@Churchview glad to hear it. I'm a bit annoyed that I left it so long to get it checked and now can't get an appointment for weeks. I wasn't particularly worried until I couldn't get to see anyone, now I'm stewing on it! Typical

3 weeks to see a GP? Bloody hell.

OP I had something similar looking and it was a basal cell carcinoma. Extremely slow growing and doesn’t throw out any roots to spread but obviously it needed to come off.

PLEASE don’t let my post scare you- if it is the same thing it won’t cause you any problems.

Yes, maybe BCC, I had two on my leg, one removed and one treated with cream, didn't have any problems and removed under local at outpatients. You will probably have a biopsy if needed to check what it is, then removed if needed, sometimes they are treated with cream if superficial or more difficult place to remove like one of mine was, though on your back would be a fairly easy place to remove I would have thought.

If you don't hear in 2 days contact the Practice Manager

Totally agree with what @WispasAreNicerThanFlakes says. The surgeon told my husband that he could wait up to a year for the op because it wasn't urgent at all so don't worry about the few weeks. It might be absolutely nothing but best get it sorted for peace of mind.

No I had it cut out and when I had the follow up about six months later they said it was all fine. Very simple procedure
