Cluster of warts / skin tags on neck

Just looking for some advice to see if anyone else has experienced this or has any remedies?

Over the last 2 years or so I've developed what I initially thought was a cluster of skin tags on my neck.. now I think it could be warts? I've also developed them on my chest and some on my stomach so they just seem to be spreading.. some of the ones on my chest have tiny little brown spots on them

Went to the gp.. no help at all, didn't diagnose it and said they'll go away on their own however there only seems to be more appearing over time and I'm getting concerned now it'll spread to my face or rest of body.

Molluscum? That's what it looks like

I did read another thread on here about molluscum! I've read that there's a dimple in the middle if it's molluscum, but I'm not sure if these do. They also bleed when I scratch them and I'm not sure if molluscum bleeds when picked?

What’s the treatment for molluscum? If it’s available at pharmacy might be worth trying it on a small area…

Jadedandlost · 27/06/2024 22:04

I realised earlier today that I have exactly the same.

Looks like my sons Molluscum, do some eventually go crusty and red/brown? They will continue to spread until you treat them. Took us a year to get rid of them. Aloe Vera gel and putting spot plasters over the ones about to erupt helped a lot

Sunlounger25 · 27/06/2024 22:13

I got mine lasered off at a skn clinic - it was really cheap. They do warn that they will come back but after a few years mine haven't yet

I'd go private if I were you.
I have active skin cancer and my derm dept is always at least 6 months behind with my checks. For a non- urgent situation like this I'd say you'll be waiting a very long time.

If they are molluscum (I think there's a tell tale dot in the middle of it? Not 100% sure though) my son had those and they went away within around 6 months on their own

WeAllHaveWings · 27/06/2024 22:20

Yes, I noticed similar a year or so after having ds. Dr said they would go away on their own. Ds is 20 now, still waiting…….

I did read they could be a sign of diabetes or high cholesterol, but I get annual bloods which includes those checks and nothing has ever shown up.

Yeah some of them have gone brown and disappeared, but it seems as soon as some disappear, 5 more turn up 😂

I will try this though thankyou! Hopefully it works

Thanks for your suggestions all..

I figured something cosmetic like this wouldn't be high priority on a dermatologists waiting list so I might look into going private or getting them lasered in the mean time

Also we got hwarts formula which really helped. The trick is to to cover them before they erupt as that’s what spreads them. We did larger plasters for big areas of spots, it definately helped stop them spreading

Yes I keep seeing this advertised on Facebook and the reviews seem positive?

Although I'm currently pregnant so will have to wait until baby's here before trying it!
