To be so angry/upset with my doctors

Hi, I had my LG and I noticed changed in my bowel movements along with pain in my stomach, plus gaining weight. I went straight to my doctors however at first they dismissed for months until they removed polyps on my bowels which was fine no issue however the pain was there.

I had one doctor even asked me what I thought it was, I since then suffered two miscarriages the last one put in hospital due to a womb inflection and because I missed the phone call at 8.21am and 8.22am they wouldn't do a call back. Anyway the hospital said it's good job I went in as I had a nasty inflections and to my surprise the pain I experienced with the bowels is gone.

However now I am being told I have cysts on my ovaries, one is really big and I need a blood test to obviously check for cancer. I'm 33 years old with a young toddler! I absolutely feel like they were negligence towards me and dismissed me and now I might possibly have cancer which I'm praying I don't but now I'm scared.

They also advised us not to get pregnant and they have referred me to emergency referral to remove them after 2 years of going back and for. Even after I told them of a family history of cysts which completely destroyed my mum own possibly to have anymore children after me. It's even the same bloody ovary!

I am honestly at a loss on what to do and it's my daughter second birthday on Monday and I can't stop crying.

Ah yes the glories of out NHS. sounds a total nightmare. You're in the system now thank God. You're understandibly hugely angry and provably very scared. What's the plan going forward in terms of timescales, what elements of this wait can you control, what techniques can you find to manage the anxiety?

As pp has said you are in the system now.

Ovarian cysts are very common and the chances of cancer are extremely low but keep pushing for answers. I say this as someone who has suffered from gynae and digestive issues for decades. I have been under my gynae department for 11 years and have only just discovered that my recurring gynae issues were all down to endometriosis.

It is such an under diagnosed condition. Definitely keep it in mind when you see your gynae and ask about it.

My sister was also left undiagnosed until a massive ovarian cyst was removed which turned out to be endometriosis also.
