Can anyone tell me what significantl wear and tear of the means please? My mum has had a letter stating that no lesions, tumors, lumps and bumps are found but there's significant wear and tear of the brain and needs another scan.

From dr google…
These appear as bright areas or white matter 'hyperintensities' on some brain MRI scans. White matter lesions are one of the most common incidental findings on brain scans. White matter lesions might be referred to as age-related, 'wear-and-tear' changes

seems common and age related. Hope all is okay

Brain changes down to age perhaps

Would assume atrophy, possibly more than would be expected for age if further scans needed but without the actual wording of report it's hard to say, I've never seen a report that uses wear and tear when describing brain.
