Decongestion help!!!!

Can anyone recommend anything to help me with my hayfever congestion.
I suffer TERRIBLY with hayfever. I had a massive attack last week and I'm so stuffed up still. I used a nose spray which gives me instant relief, but I think that's making the irritation worse now as been using it for a few days.
Any experience with the decongesting tablets? Are they worth it?

Before anyone recommends hayfever treatment and home remedies, I've literally tried everything. I'm under review at the GP for the hayfever. I just need some help with the connection, it's driving me crazy!!!!

Do you mean the hayfever injection?
I might look into this!
Although I still need some advice for congestion if anyone has any as I get so stuffy all the time and it drives me nuts!!!

Nothing gives the relief that a decondestant spray does, but when it says don't use for more than a few days they mean it! It causes more congestion in the long run and you end up in a vicious circle of needing more spray because of the spray.

The normal decongestant tablets don't do anything for me, but try them. If they don't work, ask the pharmacist for pseudoephedrine - think they're slightly more effective

I don’t know if this will help because I use it for colds not allergies.

i do a nose/face massage. I just use one finger and make circular movements around all the sinus spaces - forehead, between eyebrows, under eyes/cheekbones and nostrils. It can take up to 10 minutes, but I find it works eventually.

I assume you have already tried long hot steamy showers?

Have you used Neil Med sinus rinse? I'm obsessed since I discovered this and use it every time I get a cold or a but stuffed up. It's miraculous! Have a look on Amazon. You can also get in Boots

Phenylephrine does nothing which is OTC, do not but it. Go to the pharmacy and ask for Pseudoephedrine tablets, it’s amazing. Clinical data is miles better and efficacious.

Put Vicks in boiling water and steam your face with a towel for a 10 mins. Massage your sinuses daily and if there are any sore spots work on those and try to break it down.

Keep pushing your GP for a referral to the allergy clinic or bear minimum you want your IGE levels tested by blood for various grass / pollens.

Also assuming your GP has you on 180mg fexo, ask them to check the handbook as I’m 99% sure my allergy consultant said I could have 2-3 tablets a day when it was really bad

Worth trying out Sterimar. A sea salt rinse that you pump into your nasal cavity. Totally safe and even kids can use it. I find it very helpful, but it may not work for everyone.

I am unable to take any form of anti histamines so this is my go to. And vicks as mentioned above too. I carry the Vick Stick with me everywhere.
