Hmm, while it soudns tempting initiall (I have horrible skin) I can't help thinking that it's basically snake oil. Otherwise it would be on prescription.

My suspicion would be that it would seem to be extraordinarily unlikely that they have recently discovered that parasites are the reason for all these skin conditions. I would reserve judgement until this information has been peer reviewed.

I don't actually have acne or any of the other conditions stated but I read a thread on here last week and what the mumneters were saying sounding so diheartening that when I saw the write-up I thought I would post the link.

hi Blessed2. Thanks for posting this. As a sufferer of chronic Rosacea and having carried out some research I have heard previously that many dermatologist believe that the condition is caused by a microscopic bug but I have had to rely on antibiotic gels and oral antibiotics to keep the condition under control. before taking antibiotics almost one side of my face was bright red, itchy and scaly, covered with bumps and pustules and would sometimes bleed. I cannot even begin to describe how it affects my self esteem. I find this really interesting reading because lets face it, if there is a possible alternative to taking antibiotics for such a long length of time (rosacea sufferers tend to have the condition for 5 to 10 years and then get a small period of reprieve before it returns again for some reason) who wouldn't consider it. I think I'll do a bit more research into this. Thank you.

[quick review of the peer-reviewed literature]

The role of the mites in acne rosacea is still a bit contraversial.
No-one's quite sure whether they cause it or whether they just like living in the skin environment it creates.

Hmm, well, I have psoriasis (on knees and elbows, only rarely on the face) and adolescent-type acne despite being in my 40s - it may well be mild rosacea. Frankly I rely on the occasional facepack and lots of slap when going out - oh, and my sparkling personality...But if there was some kind of cool new cream that was less than £5 I suppose I might try it...
