I have a blood test on Thursday to check out lots of things, but i'm starting to worry that it could be something really bad given that I cannot remember when I last felt well.

General symptoms are...

Fatigue
Irritability
Nausea
Anxiousness
Feeling jittery
Fluttering in throat
Bowel problems
Lower backache normally on one side at a time
General fuzzy head type feeling
Waking up feeling like I have a hangover
Pale lifeless skin and hair

I am hoping at the mo that it is my thyroid, but as not all of my symptoms fit that, I am starting to worry, and tbh am fed up of feeling shite.

thyroid - I thought as I read the list and then noticed you've already worked that one out.

LOL, my mum reckons it is that too, as there is a family history.

I felt fine until I was ill at xmas with a stomach bug and bad cold, and then after that everything seemed to go downhill and never go back up again.

Cannot wait for the blood test and the results as I feel like I am going mad at the moment.

Oh I have puffy dry eyes too.

A friend said could it be chronic fatigue syndrome but I googled and it only fits a bit.

i've got very similar symptoms too, have been sick since november, with tonsilitis, and my glands are always up. my hair has gone really frizzy and my eyes are always bloodshot, puffy and dry. i don't drink, don't smoke, eat well and sleep for 8 hours every night. madness.
i think i might follow your lead and get a blood test.
good luck, hope you get better.

Thyroid first. It's very common and it took me a year of feeling miserable with the above symptoms to go to the doctor.

Can be caused by illness, stress and so on. It can also get better.

have you had a full range of blood tests etc...?

my first thought is a depressive/ anxiety type illness, chronic depression can lead to bad physical symptoms, which can be excacerbated by lack of sleep too.

sound like thyroid to me too. i have been lucky enough to have both under and overactive thyroid and your symptoms seem to fit. if it is your thyroid it can get better on its own or be treated very effectively with medication.
